TBL-ABI MODEL C001

The TBL-ABI system is indicated for use on adult subjects at risk of having or developing peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
TBL-ABI system is intended for the rapid measurement of ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI), or ankle-brachial index (ABI), and pulse volume recording (PVR)/ volume plethysmography in adults.
It is suitable for use in wound care assessment, for assessing symptomatic PAD, and as a screening device for PAD. It may also be used on patients with venous or arterial ulcers prior to the application of compression therapy.
The ankle-brachial index (ABI) is the ratio of the systolic blood pressure measured at the ankle to that measured at the brachial artery.
TBL-ABI
REVIEW
Originally described by Winsor in 1950, the ABI was initially proposed for the noninvasive diagnosis of lower-extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD).
Later, it was shown that the ABI is an indicator of atherosclerosis at other vascular sites and can serve as a prognostic marker for cardiovascular events and functional impairment, even in the absence of symptoms of PAD.
AVANTAGES OF TBL-ABI
AVANTAGES OF TBL-ABI
- - Improvement of the patient comfort: No tube or wire on the body
- - Reduction of the technician errors when preparing the patient for taking a measurement:
- In addition of the color code of the cuffs, the devices are labelled "ARM", LEFT ANKLE" and " RIGHT ANKLE".
- All the cuffs are labelled with a blue arrow "DOWN" , and therefore, the technician don't have to take care about the direction of the tubes.
- - 60 to 100 measurements when the battery is charged.
- - Placement of the cuffs into the box using a USB charger that stop automatically when the battery is fully charged.
TBL-ABI FEATURES
TBL-ABI FEATURES
- - Measurements based on the Pulse Volume Plethysmography: During the inflation and deflation of pressure in the cuffs, the plethysmography related to the change in blood volume in large artery is displayed. The most modern sensors and analogue-to-digital converters allow TBL-ABI sensing to 4.6 micrometers of mercury and thus enable accurate results.
- - Measurements in the ankles ( DP and PT) and left and Right arm.
- - Objective measurement: TBL-ABI’s specially designed algorithm is based on the plethysmographic techniques, which are independent of the operator and therefore ensures objective measuring of blood pressures and ABI . The subjectivity of the operator is thus excluded.
- - Repeatable measurement: Regardless of who performs the measurement, whether it is a physician or a nurse, regardless of all the disturbances that come from the office, and whether you can feel the pulse on patient´s ankle or not. The measurement result with TBL-ABI will always be the same. The TBL-ABI’s software algorithm uses a special protocol where variables are measured and calculated equally for each examination. The measurement of the Ankle-Brachial Index is reliable as well as repeatable and thus very valuable for physicians and patients.
- Fast exam: The TBL-ABI measurement time is only 3 minutes.
